A private company is offering to send wannabe astronauts to the moon — for a cool $750 million each.

Golden Spike, founded by former NASA employees, is aiming to send its first space tourists into orbit by 2020, using equipment that builds on existing technology. "The trick is 40 years old. We know how to do this," former NASA associate administrator and Golden Spike CEO Alan Stern told The Washington Post.

The company will also draw on rocket and capsule technology that's been developed for other commercial space ventures, the Post reported, such as SpaceX, a startup contracted by NASA to fly cargo to the International Space Station.
