Fresno County was notified Wednesday night of union members' intentions to go on strike. SEIU Local 521 says the strike will begin Monday at 6:00 a.m., and affect every department in the county, some more than others.
Supervisors say if enough workers go on strike, those respective departments would likely shut down for the duration. Around 4,000 employees are currently enduring a 9% pay cut. Union members cited that as the primary reason for their intention to strike.
