Protests are going on in cities and state capitols across the country today, rallying against stricter gun control laws.

Gun activists used social media to promote Guns Across America rallies, just days after President Obama unveiled a sweeping package of new gun control proposals.

Crowds gathered in Pennsylvania, and New York, with many calling the proposals "the gravest threat" ever to the 2nd Amendment.

Here in Fresno, firearms instuctors like Ron Shapazian are standing behind the right to bear arms.

"Gun control will have absolutely no effect on that whatsoever. It's people that kill people. It's not guns. Hammers have killed more people than anything else. Of course, knives aren't friendly either."

The NRA is expected to file lawsuits against gun control measures, although polls show wide-spread support for the gun control.
