The man who escaped from a Merced county correctional facility Wednesday is now back in custody. 39 year old Adrian Hicks has been arrested by Merced sheriff's deputies.

Hicks escaped through the bathroom roof of the Merced county correctional facility on the 26th.

Deputies say he had been bouncing around from house to house in Merced since then.

He told detectives the pressure from law enforcement drove him to Winton.

Deputies arrested him this afternoon on the 6200 block of Santa Fe avenue...

He was found hiding under a pile of clothes in a bedroom closet.

According to Hicks, he was about to be sentenced to extra time for a previous charge before he escaped.

He told deputies he didn't deserve the extra time.
