Las Vegas police are looking for a black Range Rover after a sudden burst of gunfire and a car fire led to the deaths of three people on the famed Strip, shutting the gambling boulevard down in several directions.
A Range Rover Sport with black rims pulled up to another car at a stoplight at the intersection of Las Vegas and Flamingo Boulevards around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, Officer Jose Hernandez of the Las Vegas Police Department told NBC News.
The occupants of the SUV opened fire on another car, which The Associated Press reported was a Maserati. The driver and passenger of that vehicle were hit, according to Hernandez, and the car went out of control, striking four other vehicles and a taxi cab.
The cab burst into flames, killing the driver and a passenger. The driver of the Maserati was also killed, though it is not clear if the vehicle fire or the gunshots were the cause.
