Sheriff's officials say two people have been shot at Taft High School in Kern County, about 30 miles south of Bakersfield.
Kern County Fire officials say one victim received only minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene, the other person was airlifted to Kern Medical Center with unknown injuries. The two victims are reported to be a teacher and a student.
It happened around 9 a.m. and students have been evacuated to the football field.
The Sheriff's Department has confirmed a shooter is in custody.
