A 10-year-old girl who was kidnapped and assaulted was found Tuesday afternoon. She was spotted in the area near Whitesbridge and Napa, disoriented, and walking along the roadside.
Tuesday morning at about 8:10 a.m., the 10-year-old victim left home on her bicycle on the way to Vineland School where she was going to catch a bus at 8:15 a.m. While she walked her bike on Jackson between Rialto & Gettysburg, she was abducted by a Hispanic man in his 20s driving a brown truck with white stripes down the side.
Deputies say the suspect took the girl to a field near Whitesbridge and Napa and assaulted her. He left her in some weeds and fled the area. The girl was found by a passerby shortly after 3:30 p.m. walking on Whitesbridge.
"Her hands were bound and she was assaulted and left there in the weeds. She thinks she was there for several hours. She eventually got up and someone found her and called the sheriff's office."
"It was heartbreaking. My wife then called her mom and it just started to unfold from there. Just never seen something like this happen before."
At the time the girl was kidnapped she had a backpack and a pink bicycle with white tires that have not been found. Investigators believe they may still be in the suspect's truck.
The suspect is described as an English speaking Hispanic male in his 20s with a shaved head and mustache. He was also wearing a blue shirt with white & yellow writing on it.
The suspect’s vehicle is described as an older model, single cab pick-up truck, brown in color with a white stripe on the side.
