Latin pop star Jenni Rivera may have been working for a drug cartel before her tragic death in a jet crash last month, Mexican media reported.
Rivera reportedly performed at parties and events for the Beltran Leyva cartel, once one of the country’s most powerful drug gangs.
She also did cocaine at the parties, an attorney for the cartel told Reforma, a Mexican Daily.
The lawyer, whose name was not released, said his job included contracting musical talent for the cartel, and the California-born Rivera was among the artists who participated.
