The young actor who played a pint-size Darth Vader in this year's Volkswagen Super Bowl commercial is recovering after successful open-heart surgery.
Freckled 7-year-old Max Page underwent the two-hour operation Thursday at Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Doctors successfully replaced his heart valve and expect to release him in five days, a hospital spokesman told MSNBC.
"The surgery went extremely well," Jennifer Page, Max's mother, said in a statement. "We love the outpouring of support that everyone has shown. The kindness of strangers, family and friends has been tremendous."
It was the eighth operation for Max, who was diagnosed with a heart defect when he was 3 months old. Before the surgery, the young star didn't appear nervous.
