A Chicago area man accused of shooting his daughter at the family's home while aiming for her boyfriend is being held in jail in lieu of $200,000 bail.

Dante D. White, 49, was arrested after he shot his 25-year-old daughter in the arm about 2 p.m. Saturday. White had been arguing with the daughter’s boyfriend and had demanded that he leave the family’s home said in Cook County Bond Court today.

The argument escalated and led to a single gunshot that struck the daughter when she stepped between her dad and boyfriend, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Laura Kubiak said. The daughter was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was initially in good condition.
