A 35-year-old Connecticut man has been arrested after his 5-year-old stepson brought 50 packets of heroin to school for show and tell.

Santos Roman went to the Barnum School in Bridgeport on Monday to retrieve the drugs and found police waiting for him. He was charged with risk of injury to a minor, possession of narcotics, sale of narcotics and possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school.

Bridgeport Police said the boy wore Roman's jacket to school Monday.
When it came time for his show-and-tell presentation, the kindergartner pulled out the bags of heroin and displayed them to his classmates. The teacher confiscated the drugs and told the principal, who called the police, according to the Connecticut Post.

When Roman arrived at the school, he frantically searched for his stepson. Instead he found his jacket and fled the school - only to find that the drugs, which have a street value of about $500, were gone.

He was detained on $100,000 bail and it is not clear if he has a lawyer. The boy was put in state custody until other relatives could be located.
