For the second time in three weeks a child has been killed at a crosswalk in north Fresno.

Police say 6-year-old Jamal Ayesh was struck and killed late Wednesday night near Herndon and Milburn Avenues. At the time his family was celebrating Ramadan at a nearby mosque.

Chief Jerry Dyer says Ayesh and a friend ran across the road against the red light. Jamal's aunt is now asking for the public's help during this difficult time.

"I just wanna say please continue to pray for our family. This is a very hard time. Thank you for the people who are praying," said an aunt.

Chief Dyer says no alcohol was involved and the driver was following traffic laws.
