Nervous Superdome officials warned of a potential Super Bowl blackout a full three months before the New Orleans kickoff, according to newly released documents.
The stadium’s engineering staff, along with the local utility Entergy New Orleans, “had concerns regarding the reliability of the Dome service from Entergy’s connection point to the Dome,” read one document.
he worries were well-founded, as the 49ers-Ravens game Sunday was delayed for 34 minutes shortly after the second-half began. The cause of the outage remained under investigation.
