An emotionally disturbed man shoved a straphanger into the path of an oncoming subway train in Times Square Monday afternoon. The 58-year-old victim was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries, police sources said.

The victim tried in vain to climb back onto the platform after he landed on the trackbed of the downtown station. “He gets back on his feet," a police source said. "He's waving to the train, 'Stop! Stop!' He tries to climb up onto the platform and the train hits him."
