Nanny Arrested After Camera Catches Her Slapping Infant

February 7, 2013 Updated Feb 7, 2013 at 3:59 PM PDT

A 52-year-old nanny was arrested after she was allegedly captured on video slapping a 5-month-old baby in the face as her sister looked on in their Staten Island home.

The criminal complaint says Mamura Nasirova was arrested on charges of endangering the child and resisting arrest.

The complaint says the nanny was seen on video last week smacking the child. In the video, the nanny appears to be trying to feed her a bottle, and then starts slapping the baby's face. She then roughly picks up the baby and carries her out of the frame.

A law enforcement official tells NBC 4 New York that the video was recorded by a nanny cam hidden inside a carbon monoxide detector in the family's home.
