FORT MYERS-- A quiet neighborhood was left stunned after a mother found a man wearing nothing but a towel standing in her front yard. It happened off of McGregor in Fort Myers.
The mother, who did not want to identify herself, said she was expecting an average day when the sun came up on Aqua Lane.
That notion quickly changed.
"I noticed a man wrapped up in a towel naked walking by my boat," she described.
She says she confronted the stranger and asked what he was doing.
"He said he was looking for a place to take a shower. He looked like had already taken a shower somewhere - either with my hose or in the pool or in the sprinklers," she said.
She yelled at him to leave. She says he cussed at her, walked around the side of the house and then headed toward the water.
She called 911.
"I got up and was going to work and there was a police officer's car parked on my lawn. So I started to wonder what the heck was going on," said neighbor Tom Miller.
He and the rest of the neighborhood soon had their answers.
"We walked the neighborhood and three or four police officers came up and searched the neighborhood and didn't seem to find anything," Miller said.
Deputies searched high and low for a white man - said to be in his mid-20s with reddish-blonde curly hair and wearing only a towel.
"How you get this far without any clothes on I don't know," Miller said.
"They should of been able to find; him we live in a closed in neighborhood," the mother said.
