Parents Burned In Selma Mobile Home Fire

Two people are recovering after a fire burned a home in Selma. It broke out at a mobile home on Dinuba Ave. It happened just before 7:00 Friday morning.

Firefighters worked to put out the flames that engulfed the mobile home. 14-year-old Tania Bustos was inside when the fire broke out.
She says, "We were sleeping. You hear my Dad yelling to get out of the house. From there we tried to get everyone out."

Tania says she grabbed her younger brother and sister and they got out safely. Her parents weren't so lucky. "My Dad had burns all over his head and back. My mom... her head, chest, and arms."

Emergency crews rushed them to CRMC. Fire officials say they suffered from serious burns.Investigators haven't figured out what caused the fire, but say it was an accident.

Red Cross was on scene to help the family. Fire officials say the kids are staying with neighbors until the parents recover. The damage is estimated at $20,000.
