Fire caused evacuations at Reedley High School Thursday afternoon.
The blaze broke out just after 1:00 p.m. inside a vacant classroom. Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the classroom. It took ten minutes to put out the fire.
Reedley Fire Chief Jerry Issak says school officials followed proper procedure to keep students safe. "Upon arrival, I noticed that the entire campus was being evacuated to the south and to the east of the school campus, which is the right thing to do."
The cause is under investigation.
