Aurora, Colo., police say an armed man was believed to be holding hostages inside a home early Saturday morning, NBC affiliate KUSA reported.
Officers were called to a town home around 3 a.m. after reports of shots fired.
"We do believe there is an armed and dangerous man inside," Sgt. Cassidee Carlson of the Aurora Police Department told KUSA.
Carlson said it's unclear if anyone is injured. Authorities do not know how many people are inside the home, but negotiators were at the
scene, KUSA said.
Aurora Police sent out emergency notifications for residents in the area.
Carlson told KUSA police have spoken on the phone with the suspect.
