It was a family gathering of sorts for the Scarbers who face charges of conspiracy after Spencer escaped to Mexico.
Convicted rapist Spencer Scarber's parents and sister were all in court for an arraignment.
But it'll be a while longer before Kyle and Gail Scarber, and Crystal Reynoso, enter a plea.
The arraignment had to be rescheduled.
Gail Scarber and Crystal Reynoso have yet to hire attorneys.
All three face felony charges, accused of helping Spencer Scarber escape to Mexico.
He was about to be sentenced for rape, robbery, and burglary.
All three had their bail amounts increased.
But Kyle Scarber's attorney, Marshall Hodgkins, doesn't feel there's a flight risk.
"The person that was a flight risk apparently was Spencer. Spencer is in custody and these three people are here to address these charges."
The complaint provides a recap of what led the Scarber family to where they are today...
Kyle Scarber, an area chief for the Highway Patrol, is said to have reported his son Spencer missing on December 12th.
A car registered to Kyle and Gail Scarber was then reported crossing the border into Mexico.
Gail Scarber and Crystal Reynoso then crossed back, on foot.
But prior to all this, the complaint shows a birth certificate had been altered to depict the name of "Brandon Smith."
The complaint also states a Texas drivers license had been manufactured for this "Brandon Smith."
And computer searches were ran for info on Mexico, as well as crossing the border.
Gail Scarber is said to have bought two prepaid international phones at Target.
According to the complaint, all three face charges of accessory, conspiracy, and willful failure to appear in court.
Gail Scarber faces charges of forgery and counterfeiting a birth certificate.
Kyle Scarber faces another charge of filing a false criminal report.
His attorney said a conviction could have dire consequences.
"Any conviction he may obtain as a result of these charges would definitely mean the end of his career."
Kyle and Gail Scarber, and Crystal Reynoso, have been rescheduled for arraignment for April 3rd.
Spencer Scarber is also due back in court for sentencing next month.
He faces up to 70 years in prison.
