Atwater police arrested a young man who may have stolen fireworks from a school booster club.
It was supposed to be one of the biggest fundraisers to help the Atwater High School band go to Hawai'i. Now that's in jeopardy after thousands of dollars worth of fireworks are stolen.
The boosters president says the fireworks were likely stolen the night before July 4th.
Now the band is on the hook for the money. The money was meant to help students get to Hawai'i for a major competition.
"I hope whoever did it gets what's coming to them," said Selena Wooten, President of the band.
The band is now looking for any help it can get. It's holding a rummage sale on July 14th at Atwater High School. Or if you would like to donate call this number 209-358-1230 and help these kids with their fundraiser.
