Ten Year Old Mauled by Raccoon as Baby Has Successful Reconstruction Surgery

Charlotte Ponce, 10, who was attacked by a raccoon, has returned home after having another reconstructive surgery.

A Michigan girl mauled by a pet raccoon as a baby is recovering after her fifth reconstructive surgery in an operation that has given her what she always wanted: a new nose.

Doctors at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak completed the surgery on 10-year-old Charlotte Ponce last Friday, even tweeting live updates to let the public know what was happening. It was the last surgery to rebuild her nose after previous ones.
