A theft at a convenience store ended with the suspect getting shot by Tulare police. The details of what led up to the shooting are still scant.
At 6:48 Thursday evening, Tulare police got a call about a theft at a store on Inyo avenue. Shortly after, officers found the suspect about a block away on L street.
A struggle ensued, and the suspect was shot. Neighbors say they heard four shots.
Police are not confirming how many times the man was hit. He was taken to Tulare Regional and his condition was not immediately known.
No officers were hurt during the confrontation. The Tulare County Sheriff's Office is taking over the investigation.
