On Thursday, October 11, 2012, Selma Police Chief Myron Dyck announced the arrest of Victor Candelas (29) of Reedley, Ca. for twenty counts of possession of Child Pornography and one count of Distribution of Child Pornography.
Approximately one month ago, the Selma Police Department received a complaint of Child Pornography being received via cellular text message. Selma Police detectives investigated the serious Child Pornography allegation and soon developed a possible suspect.
Based on information uncovered, a judge authorized a Search Warrant, which was executed on Thursday at the suspect’s home in Reedley, Ca.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Apprehension Team and members of the Reedley Police Department, the suspect was located and taken into custody without incident. In the search of the suspect’s home, all multi-media equipment was seized for later forensic analysis. Also discovered were numerous digital images depicting Child Pornography.
Victor Candelas has a criminal history consisting of resisting arrest, reckless driving, and domestic violence. Victor was booked into the Fresno County Jail.
