Lance Van Grouw was flown from Community Regional Medical Center by helicopter Tuesday morning to The Rehabilitation Center at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (SCVMC) to continue his recovery and rehabilitation.

In his first full day at SCVMC he went through numerous rehabilitation sessions on Wednesday, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, gym time and was able to feed himself and drink on his own.

The former Central Valley Christian standout Lance Van Grouw was partially paralyzed after hurting his neck and spinal cord in a Slip N' Slide accident August 7th. He had emergency surgery at CRMC to remove broken pieces of his C-5 vertebra that were pressing against his spinal cord. He has been regaining feeling in his extremities and undergoing physical therapy .

Van Grouw helped lead the Cavaliers to Valley Titles as a sophomore and Junior. Last season CVC finished runners-up to Washington Union.
