A 54-year-old California woman was taken to the hospital after sustaining serious injuries during what police are calling a drive-by pumpkin attack.

According to authorities, the woman was talking a walk on Thanksgiving Day when she was hit by a pumpkin thrown from a speeding car. The pumpkin hit her squarely in the chest, and officials said that the injuries and pain were severe enough that she needed to be taken to the hospital.

Police are still looking for those involved in the attack and so far only know that they were driving in a white, four-door sedan.

After being treated for injuries, the woman remains in stable condition, though the injuries could have been more severe, said Officer Joe Silva.
