Medical Marijuana Store Owner Refuses to Shut Down
The owner of a medical marijuana dispensary appeared in court Friday morning, for violating an order to stop selling marijuana out of his Tower District dispensary. Rick Morse told the judge that he will continue to serve his patients, despite the order. Morse was also ordered to perform 100 hours of community service. He refused to do that as well. The City of Fresno is now contemplating its options on how to deal with Morse. He is due back in court on May 14. More

Softball team wins a pair at Bulldog Diamond
Fresno State softball sophomore pitcher Mackenzie Oakes (Bakersfield, Calif.), threw the first perfect game of her career in a 3-0 win over Georgetown in the `Dogs final game of day three at the Bayer CropScience at Bulldog Diamond on Saturday night. It is the first perfect game by a 'Dog since Jamie Southern threw one in an 8-0 run-ruled victory over Dartmouth on March 25, 2005. This is the 14th perfect game in Fresno State history and Oakes is the eighth different Bulldog to pitch one.

Central Fresno Manhunt Ends in Crash
A high speed chase in central Fresno Friday night ended in a spectacular crash into a building at Palm and Belmont. It started with a manhunt for a wanted gang member. Police say he was making terrorist threats earlier in the day. They found him in Central Fresno. He tried to get away, but crashed after the high speed chase.

Guilty of 1st Degree Murder
A verdict was reached Friday morning in the case of Manuel Mancilla, 25. He was convicted of the first degree murder of Reyna Cedano, 29. The victim was shot to death in a Chuck-E-Cheese parking lot in September 2008. The men knew each other and were fighting over a woman. The victim's family members say justice was served with the verdict. More

Police would not elaborate on the accident, other than to say the motorcycle officer involved sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. Human Trafficking Investigation in SW Fresno
UPDATE: SUSPECT ARRESTED ON WARRANT, DONALD SYKES. MAN SUSPECTED OF PIMPING IS CATRAYEL LOVE. 43. Fresno County Sheriff's detectives and MAGEC officers, consisting of multiple agencies including Fresno Police, filled a southwest Fresno neighborhood Thursday morning for an investigation into human trafficking. Two people were arrested on various allegations. The multi-agency investigation spans three months. The women who were allegedly sold for sex are being tracked down. More

Court: 'Under God' In Pledge Is Constitutional
In a 2-1 ruling, the 9th U.S. Court of Appeals ruled Thursday that the phrase "under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance is constitutional, rejecting arguments by Sacramento atheist Michael Newdow that the phrase violates the separation between church and state.
