Burn victims receive special visit
Two children nearly lost their lives when a fire ripped through their home in Arvin. Both are being treated at community regional medical medical center in downtown Fresno for severe burns. Friday, the boys got a special visit to help aid in their recovery. Members of the Fresno Pacific University soccer team, some of who also play for the Fresno Fuego, visited Victor Medina, Jr. 10, and his brother Carlos, 7. Their father, Victor Medina, SR. was also severely burned in the fire. The boys play soccer themselves and were thrilled to receive autographed balls and jerseys from their favorite players. The boys' mother Yadira Munoz, told Ksee 24 news, "I'm so happy they came b/c they're real happy." David Borba, who plays for Fresno Pacific said, ""I haven't gone through a similar circumstance, but I've had injuries and when you're feeling down, you want to be picked up and have someone brighten your day, and i think we did that for them." The two boys and their father are expected to make a full recovery. The family lost nearly everything they owned in the fire.
