    Fresno resident, 68-year-old Harold Kelly is a breast cancer survivor. He was diagnosed nearly a year ago after noticing two lumps in his left breast. Kelly underwent a mastectomy and is now spreading the word that breast cancer can strike anyone. Stefani Booroojian reports.

    The Central Valley Affiliate of Susan G. Komen For The Cure awarded 10 grants to programs providing breast cancer services in the Fresno County area.

  • Spreading Breast Cancer Awareness With Style

    The West Fresno Health Care Coalition is getting creative in its efforts to spread breast cancer awareness. The coalition is using grant money from the Susan G. Komen Foundation to promote its "We Care" project. For the last year, stylists from seven West Fresno hair salons have been educating clients on the importance of yearly mammograms. Now, the coalition is focusing on getting the message out at West Fresno area churches. The coalition says it's important to get the message to African-American women in our community, because statistics prove they are more likely to die of breast cancer than women of other ethnicities.

    The 3rd annual KSEE 24 Bra Banner of Hope project is underway. The banner displays decorated bras for Breast Cancer Awareness. Fresno resident Carolyn Evans has participated in the project every year; she is the first to pin her bra on the latest banner.

    Local crafters converged on the Twee Boutique in Fresno's Tower District for a bra decorating event. They decorated bras for KSEE 24's breast cancer awareness project: The Bra Banner of Hope.

    Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino wants you to “Think Pink” and help raise money for Adventist Health Breast Care Center. Throughout the month of October Tachi Palace will sell Tachi Thinks Pink t-shirts for $5.00 and pink ribbons for $1.00, with all of the proceeds going to the center.
