Fresno police say they know why 8-year-old Ahlia Cha was shot. Now they're investigating who pulled the trigger.
Ahlia was asleep at home on 4th street Thursday morning. A drive-by shooting forced her into surgery, and "life-altering injuries."
Chief Jerry Dyer also knows what caused Ahlia's future to be forever changed. She's bearing the weight of her brothers' past.
Active gang members don't typically talk to police. Ahlia's brothers told them everything they know.
The information led police to believe the shooting was gang-related, even if the intended targets tried to walk away from violence.
Crimestoppers is offering a $2,000 reward for any additional information that leads to an arrest. Anyone that can help, should call 498-STOP.
