An attorney for one of the men charged in the Fresno State hazing death, spoke out Wednesday.
Antonio Alvarez says his client Daniel Baker, is feeling true guilt and remorse. Wednesday, arrest warrants were removed for both Baker and Leonard Serrato. The two students, along with Aaron Raymo are charged in the hazing death of 18 year old Philip Dhanens.
Dhanens was pledging for the Theta Chi Fraternity, when he consumed a deadly amount of alcohol.
While some students at fresno state say the crime should not go unpunished, Baker's attorney doesn't know if his client's involvement warrants the charges.
"His actions in this specific instant, he was two or three steps removed from what happened in the trophy room from my understanding," says Alvarez.
Fresno State student Jorge Gonzalez says, "They have to be accountable because they're the ones who set everything up for that happen."
Fresno State officials also announced efforts to step up awareness. Starting this summer, all incoming freshman and transfer students will be given information about alcohol consumption and alcohol poisoning during orientation.
As for the suspects, Baker will is scheduled to be arraigned in court April 16th. Serrato is due in court June 10th. There's no word yet on how Raymo will be represented.
