The end of a 13.1 mile race...
"That last sprint, I pushed it hard."'
Nestor Ayala and his dad, also named Nestor, ran it together.
"It's a big experience for me."
We heard that a lot out here.
The Two Cities Marathon and Half Marathon is the biggest race in the central valley.
This year 4800 people showed up.
Most took on the half marathon... But not Jesus Campos.
He ran the complete marathon, 26.2 miles and finished in 2 hours and 24 minutes.
"I wanted to go for a fast time, that's how i usually run. I go for a time not for a place. If I ran this time and came in 3rd or 4th place...I'd be happy."
The race was good news for east coast runners.
Runners who were supposed to compete in the New York City Marathon, but couldn't because of Hurricane Sandy.
"We stayed open later yesterday because of that. So an extra hour to accommodate the NYC folks."
She says 40 people from that marathon signed up, giving this race some good exposure, and some runners a chance to compete somewhere new.
"I'd intended on driving down to New Jersey and New York and enjoying the greatest race in the world, and unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy had other plans for us, so on Friday I decided it wasn't in the cards. It didn't look good for logistics and just the drain on the city, what the marathon would've been."
