Madera County has filed a lawsuit against its current solid waste vendor. It's seeking $2.9 million it claims was overcharged by Waste Connections. The move comes after report found Madera Disposal Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Waste Connections, was keeping too much revenue. The company runs the county's trash hauling, landfill, and recycling collection services. Red Rock Environmental will be the county's new solid waste vendor beginning November 1st.
“We immediately started working with Red Rock Environmental to have a contingency plan in place and as bins are being pulled we'll be making arrangements to make sure they have a bin and be replaced as quickly as possible,” said Madera County Administrative Officer Eric Fleming.
Red Rock Environmental is a local company which is part of Fresno based, Caglia Environmental.
