Hundreds made the trip to Kings Canyon National Park for the 87th annual Trek to the Nation's Christmas Tree.
It was a festive holiday celebration, which commemorates the men and women of the armed forces who have served, fought, and died protecting our country.
A wreath was laid at the base of the general grant tree, which is also known as The Nation's Christmas Tree.
For some, this has become an annual family tradition.
Raymond Greer, Clovis: "Some of the services we've had have been in the snow, and those are a lot of fun when we come up here and we'd be in the snow. But the ones we get to come up with family are the most meaningful. This year I have my 2 nieces with me."
People from as far away as Thailand made the trek for the annual ceremony.
Organizers say this is the only living memorial honoring our servicemen and women.
