Gold Buying Event Helps Schools

FRESNO, CA (February 19, 2013) - Fresno Coin Gallery is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Gold Buying Event to benefit local schools. The event will begin March 1, 2013 and run through the end of the month. During this time, all Fresno Coin Gallery locations, including the new South Valley location, Visalia Jewelry & Loan, will donate an additional ten percent of every gold buying transaction to community schools.

Over the past three years, Fresno Coin Gallery’s gold buying events have yielded donations to all Fresno County Schools, totaling $216,138. This year, in hopes of surpassing last year’s donation, Fresno Coin Gallery is expanding the length of the event. In addition to partnering with Larry Powell, Superintendent of the Fresno County Office of Education (FCOE) and The Foundation at FCOE, Fresno Coin Gallery has added a partnership with Jim Vidak, Superintendent of the Tulare County Office of Education (TCOE) and the TCOE Foundation, to include all Tulare County schools. During this event, customers will choose whether the ten percent contribution will go to the area of Academics, Athletics, Arts, or Agriculture (The 4 A’s For Every Student). Superintendents Powell and Vidak will direct donations to the area of the customer’s choice.

The funds donated in previous years were used to support numerous academic competitions, expand the arts education offerings, support student physical wellness, help fund Future Farmers of America programs, and more. Events funded by the donation include the State Academic Decathlon, the Fresno County Academic Decathlon, FCOE Science Fair, FCOE Youth Choir, FCOE Theatre Project, Mock Trial, the CIF Section Finals, and athletic grants.

Valley residents who are interested in participating in this exciting opportunity, which benefits students of Fresno and Tulare Counties, can visit any Fresno Coin Gallery or Visalia Jewelry & Loan location during the month of March.
