China Peak Mountain Resort Opening Before Thanksgiving

November 14, 2011 Updated Nov 14, 2011 at 9:14 PM PDT

November 19th 2011 (LAKESHORE, CA) China Peak Mountain Resort will be opening for operation this weekend with limited lifts and several new features. Having received 10-18 inches of fresh snow in addition to this past weekend’s storm, China Peak plans to open the 19-20th and 25-27th – more openings upon mother nature’s downfall of powder.

Opening weekend will consist of lifts four and six for beginner to intermediates along with a magic carpet for new skiers/snowboarders. The recently improved Day Lodge will open all features to the public, including the bar which is four times the previous size, named after Fresno’s 50 year skier, Jack Pieroni.
Extreme snow making got an early start this year enabling China Peak to open before Thanksgiving – creating an outstanding powder season in the forecast.

Tim Cohee, Owner and General Manager of China Peak, states “With more natural snow and continued snowmaking, China Peak will open more terrain and lifts as we enjoy another early opening, setting us up for a terrific Christmas holiday of skiing and riding.”
China Peak Mountain Resort expects a larger storm coming in this weekend, with more snow possibly Friday and Sunday. Both beginner and intermediate runs will be open including a few rails at Sundown Ridge. Discount ticket prices for opening weekend will be on skichinapeak.com starting Tuesday, November 15th.

China Peak is locally owned and operated; organically inventing skiers and snowboarders since 1957…good times ahead.
