Controversial proposal will allow guns in national parks

Gun advocates managed to put an unrelated addition into the recently passed bill regulating credit cards that allows people to carry concealed weapons into national parks. Several lawmakers say it was an unfortunate compromise that helped pass a consumer rights bill in Washington. Gun rights advocates say that there is no reason to restrict people who legally carry guns from bringing them into national parks. But, a spokesperson for Yosemite National Park says there are concerns the new law will threaten the safety of park visitors and park wildlife.
