The Public House restaurant at Granite Park was put up for auction Wednesday morning, with an opening bid of around $2 million. But, when no one bid on it, the lending institution that was owed the money on the property took control of it. A spokesperson for the lender says it does not want to operate the restaurant and will look for a buyer. Fresno businessman Kirk Vartanian, who is developing other properties at Granite Park, has indicated he is interested in taking over the The Public House. Today's auction was another blow for Granite Park developer Milt Barbis, who is also under investigation for felony insurance and tax fraud related to Granite Park.
