Since the school opened 3 years ago, the kids at Chavez Elementary in Madera have been spreading the holiday spirit by serving up pancakes to the community. It's a sort of send-off for the students as they head into their winter break. They started the cooking at 5am, then families and friends in the community began chowing down at 6am. It's a tradition they plan to continue for years to come.
