A huge fire in downtown Orange Cove had some people thinking the whole town was on fire. The fire struck the old Sunny Cove packing warehouse, which has been abandoned for about four years. The city owns the building.

Volunteer firefighters from Orange Cove and supporting agencies from Dinuba and from Fresno County helped to keep the fire contained to the old warehouse. The only danger was a biofuel building on the property. Three to four utility poles burned and that blew several power circuits causing some Orange Cove homes and businesses to lose power. P.G. & E. crews are working throughout the morning to restore power.

No one was hurt in the fire. The warehouse is a total loss.
