Thousands of people threw rocks at each other during a fair at a temple in Northern India.
The event asks for divine blessings and takes place the day after Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights.
Teams of people threw rocks Wednesday until one person was injured.
That person's blood was then offered to a goddess.
Volunteers participate because they believe the goddess will bless them.
Local legend has it the fair began to end human sacrifice at the temple.
