(Press Release) On Thursday morning, at 3:20 a.m. Visalia Police Department received a 9-1-1 call from a female victim reporting that she had been assaulted, bound with duct tape, and her life threatened by her boyfriend Michael Nash.
Officers entered the residence to make contact with Michael Nash when Nash locked the door to the bedroom. Nash then exited the bedroom through a bedroom window where he fled into the detached garage of the residence. Nash then barricaded himself inside the garage possibly in possession of a firearm.
The Visalia Police Department SWAT Team was activated and responded to the scene. After an approximate six hour standoff, members from the SWAT team entered the garage and located suspect Michael Nash in medical distress. Ambulance staging in the area arrived on scene and transported Nash to Kaweah Delta Medical Center for evaluation. Michael Nash remains in custody and under the care of KDMC with officers standing by.
35-year-old Michael Nash is on parole for charges involving Assault with a Deadly Weapon. Charges sought by the Visalia Police Department against Nash are criminal threats, false imprisonment, domestic battery, and resisting arrest.
