The unemployment rate held steady at 8.2 percent, which is bad news for President Obama who is trying to create jobs ahead of the November election. Economists had expected a mediocre 90,000 to 100,000 jobs. Later today, the president will sign a big transportation bill designed to create jobs after wrapping up a two-day battleground state bus tour. In Ohio, he announced his administration's getting tough with China for unfair trade, saying the U.S. will not give tax breaks to companies that are shipping jobs overseas.
After today, there are just four jobs reports before the election. the last one will be released just four days before voters go to the polls.
