Veterinarians say the one-and-a-half pound cub is healthy.
It was born to Bai Yun at the San Diego zoo 25 days ago.
Zoo staff performed the quick three minute exam while Bai Yun left the den to eat.
Doctors were unable to determine the sex of the cub.
Mother and cub can be seen 24-hours a day on the San Diego zoo's "panda cam".
