Starting off the New Year with Yoga

By KSEE Sunrise

Tuesday morning on KSEE Sunrise, Katie Flinn of Coil Yoga demonstrated Yoga postures to help us "get grounded," d-stressed and in shape for the New Year. She brought along Yoga instructor Marie DiBona to demonstrate prenatal Yoga postures for pregnant women.

Grounding comes from creating a quality of stillness and contentment within our bodies, ourselves and our life. Yoga has a way of teaching students how to cultivate those things so that there is more balance and grounding in all aspects of our lives. Starting at the beginning, even if you’ve been practicing is a great way to refresh your mind and body about the importance of getting the foundations for a strong practice. Coil Yoga's Intro to Yoga Series with Louise Bauer Davoli begins today Tuesday January 8th and runs for 8 weeks.

Pre/Post Natal is also starting up again and is an excellent way for expecting and new mom’s to maintain a sense of who they are in the midst of becoming a new mom.

Mom’s are often like the foundation of a family. They need time and space to care for themselves so that they have energy to give to their families. This class at COIL will meet on Monday nights from 5:30-6:30 pm through March 3rd.

Katie and Marie demonstrated two types of standing forward bends for new students and new moms! Click on the link above to see the video, and for more information on classes go to Coil Yoga
