The two orchestras will present a wide ranging program of classical music and jazz from some of the finest Latin American composers in a delightful outdoor atmosphere.
The Consulate of Mexico collaborated with the city of Fresno and valley businesses to bring the “Youth and Children Cedros – Universidad Panamericana Symphony Orchestra” to Fresno.
This Orchestra will perform a selected repertoire of classical music from Latin-American composers and, the last piece, the “Huapango” of José Pablo Moncayo, will be performed along with the “Youth Orchestras of Fresno Philharmonic Orchestra”.
The purpose of this international concert is to promote the appreciation of classical music among the Central Valley’s children and youth as well as to introduce some works of internationally renowned Latin-American composers to the general public.
The presence in Fresno of the Youth and Children Cedros – Universidad Panamericana Symphony Orchestra, with more than 100 members aged from 8 to 20, is part of a tour called "Las Californias" which will include concerts in Tijuana, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Fresno.
This is the first event to be performed in the newly refurbished Rotary Amphitheatre at Fresno's Woodward Park.
