Deal or No Deal star Howie Mandel talks about Adult ADHD

You may know Howie Mandel as an actor, comedian, and host of Deal or No Deal, but what you might not know is that he is also one of the estimated 10 million adults in the United States who may have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

Adult ADHD is a real and treatable condition and is one of the most common psychiatric disorders in the United States. ADHD affects approximately 4.4 percent of U.S. adults aged 18 to 44 years, according to the National Comorbidity Survey Replication, a nationally representative household survey.

Recent statistics show that ADHD has gone unrecognized in approximately 6.7 million adults, resulting in unmanaged symptoms including inattention, hyperactivity, impulsivity, and personal challenges that are disruptive to relationships and the workplace.

Many people may think of ADHD as only a childhood disorder; however, up to 65-percent of children with ADHD may still exhibit symptoms into adulthood, and these symptoms can significantly impact work, home. and relationships.
