Opening statements begin in Schuster trial

By Theresa Freed

Opening statements in the trial of a woman accused of killing her husband and stuffing his body in a barrel of acid, got underway Monday morning.

The prosecution gave their lengthy opening statement--summerizing what evidence they'll have for jurors, in the hopes of proving Larissa Schuster is a killer.

During the prosecutor's presentation he played tape recorded phone messages from the defendant to her estranged husband Timothy Schuster, in the months leading up to his death.

Jurors also got a look at part of the video taped interview Larissa Schuster had with Clovis police, as they were still looking for the then assumed missing person.
