Verdict reached in Larissa Schuster murder trial

By KSEE 24 News

The jury in the Larissa Schuster trial has found Schuster guilty of murder in the first degree, with special circumstances.

Schuster faces a possible sentence of 25 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The prosecution was not seeking the death penalty in the case.

Just a couple of hours into day three of deliberations, the jurors in trial in Van Nuys announced they had reached a verdict.

Schuster was accused of murdering her husband Timothy in 2003 and putting his body in a barrel filled with acid.

The jury had the option of finding her not guilty, guilty of first or second degree murder, or guilty of voluntary manslaughter.

During the trial Schuster admitted to helping hide her husband's body after she claims a former employee killed him.

Earlier Wednesday morning it was revealed that the jury had asked a question Tuesday regarding special circumstances about possible financial gain.
