"This is my daughter's home, my mother's home," says Monica Marquez.

Why was her home destroyed during a search for Fresno County murder suspect, Kenneth Wilson?

A man she claims... to have never known.

"We have a total eleven kids that live on this hill... No way we’d let someone that dangerous to be around our babies," said Marquez.

Marquez tells KSEE 24 News, that Fresno County SWAT team members held her and her 4-year-old daughter at gunpoint before they searched and destroyed her house.

But she says a search warrant was never served.

Instead, she claims to have been handed a notice, authorizing the search of a house across the street.

"My understanding is the search warrant was for the home right there… that is abandoned," said Laura Wass, representative for Indian rights group, the American Indian Movement.

She is helping the family take the next steps... and put an end to what she calls "terrorism."

"We're filing a claim against the county for all the damages and we will be filing a lawsuit against the county for this terrorism that took place," said Wass.

"They need to be held accountable, just like if I went and broke somebody’s window or destroyed their property, I would be held accountable," says the homeowner and mother of Monica Marquez, Tamara Riley.

But until things can be resolved, the family says they need a safer place to stay.

"I have a 4-year-old granddaughter that I can’t bring because this is her safe place, this is where she always felt safe and now I can’t even bring her home," said Riley.

When we contacted the Sheriff's Department in regard to the damages, they declined to comment... And told us they had directed the family to the county's risk management office.
